How long have you been a member of Partial Comfort? 4 months
How did you initially find out about Partial Comfort? What made you decide you wanted to be a member?
Well...this guy I had a crush on was in PCP so I used to check the website, often, looking for pictures of him. This is before Facebook. I think my mom actually sent me the link. Then I was lucky enough to be invited to the retreat. I found myself surrounded by warm, funny, talented people who allowed me to feel a part of them instantly. Soon after that, I saw a PCP show I really enjoyed, was asked to join and accepting was a no-brainer.
When people ask you why you want to be a member of an ensemble, what do you usually tell them?
I don't know that anyone has asked me that. Because it seems pretty obvious that being part of an ensemble is dope. I mean, who doesn't want to belong to something bigger than themselves?
What are some projects (readings, workshops, plays) that you've enjoyed working on within the company?
and Edith's (Freni) Welcome mat readings are all I've had the chance to work
on. But, I'd be happy to keep doing those over and over.
What do you find inspiring/exciting about being a company member? What do you find challenging and/or what have you learned?
You know what I found inspiring? Was the sense of family and accountability. That when people can't make it to readings/events/shows - they let each other know. That anyone would care enough to let me know that they can't make it to a reading I'm in - is awesome. No challenges yet- unless you count the challenge of trying not to make out with Jackie Chung and Jenny Seastone Stern all the time.
I've met directors and writers I may never have met otherwise. I look forward to starring in every show these people are associated with from now on.
